About Us

History

The Usher Foundation was founded in 1953 by Leslie Usher with the mission of creating the nation's first unified library and archive of unnatural occurrences. The first branch was opened in Washington, DC, where Usher transformed his own summer home into the headquarters of the organization.

The Seven Branches

In addition to the original location, the Usher Foundation now operates seven branches throughout the country, including in Hawaii and Alaska. One of these branches exists in Missouri, not far from the Mississippi River.

Organization

Each branch of the foundation is run by a branch director, who oversees operations for their institution. These directors report to the CEO, who in turn reports to the Foundation Board.
